In addition, there is the opportunity to study at world-ranked universities at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Why Canada?
- Natural Conversation Practice
You practise constantly, not only in class, but also at the market, on public transport and in social situations. This enables you to use the language reflexively, without thinking. - Correct Accent and Pronunciation
Learning from native speakers helps you acquire the correct stress and pronunciation. This enables you to communicate more clearly and professionally. - Cultural Learning
Language is not just about words; by understanding the culture, you use the language more accurately and effectively. This enables you to use the correct forms of expression, especially in business life. - Increased Confidence
Communicating on your own in a foreign country boosts your confidence in using the language. The fear of making mistakes diminishes and your speaking practice accelerates. - International Career Advantage
Language training abroad strengthens your CV and sets you apart from your competitors. Employers view this experience as an indicator of discipline, adaptability and communication skills. - Networking Opportunities in an International Environment
You gain a global network by communicating with students from different countries. These connections create long-term opportunities both socially and professionally.

About Canada

Canada has long been one of the world’s most livable and desirable countries thanks to its high standard of living, strong economy, quality education system, unique natural environment, and opportunities it offers to immigrants. For many people looking to live abroad and start a new life, Canada ranks among the top choices. This perception is not coincidental; Canada is a country that successfully integrates immigrants into society, offers equal opportunities, and has a high level of social welfare. Cities such as Toronto and Vancouver are regularly ranked among the most livable cities in the world.
The Canadian economy is quite stable, and its main sources of income include mining, oil, and the information technology (IT) sector. Thanks to its constantly evolving structure, Canada continues to open new doors for individuals with career and life goals. Another important factor that makes the country unique is that English and French are the official languages. French is widely spoken, especially in regions such as Montreal. Average hourly wages generally range from 16 to 45 Canadian dollars.
Climate
Although Canada’s climate is similar to Turkey’s in terms of seasons, winters are longer and harsher. Summers are short and generally hot. The winter season begins in mid-September and can last until April. Those seeking a milder climate prefer Vancouver over Toronto. Canada’s lakes, mountains, and natural beauty have been shaped by this long winter season and snowfall.
Accommodation
The most common type of accommodation for students is homestay. These families are reliable and experienced, monitored by educational institutions and the government. Students’ specific requests (such as not wanting pets or families with children) are largely accommodated if notified in advance. Homestays include breakfast and dinner, and students often choose this option for the first 4 weeks to adapt more quickly to Canadian culture.
After homestay, students can move into shared apartments. Weekly room prices average between CAD 250–350. Dormitory accommodation is another option; single or double rooms are usually available, and meals are not included. Weekly dormitory fees range from CAD 250–400.
Working in Canada
Students enrolled in language programs do not have legal work permits. Work permits are issued to students in certificate programs, colleges, and universities. These students can work up to 20 hours per week and full-time during vacation periods. Students mostly work in the service sector (waiter, barista, service staff, cleaning, etc.). Hourly wages range from CAD 14 to CAD 22, and tips and overtime pay increase earnings. The most important way to find a job is to build a strong social network. Canadian references are a great advantage on your resume.
Language Schools in Canada
Canada is one of the most popular countries for students who want to study languages. The reasons for this include quality education, affordable living costs, a multicultural structure, an understandable English accent, a positive attitude towards immigrants, and a high standard of living. Language schools are mainly located in Toronto and Vancouver.
Students receive an average of 20 hours of instruction per week, and those who wish can take intensive programs of up to 30–36 hours. A placement test is administered at the beginning of the program, and students are placed in appropriate classes. Each level lasts an average of 6–8 weeks. Special programs such as Business English, IELTS, TOEFL, and Cambridge are also offered.
Certificate Programs
In Canada, students can enroll in professional certificate programs either after completing language training or directly. These programs typically last 20–44 weeks and may offer a co-op (internship) option. Internships may be paid or unpaid. Some programs require an IELTS Academic score of 4.0–5.0. Students whose language proficiency is insufficient can first take language training to transition into these programs.
Certificate programs offer important advantages such as gaining Canadian work experience, using English in a professional environment, strengthening your CV, working with different cultures, and the opportunity to transition to further education (college).
Canadian Culture, Life, and Language
Canada has a structured, respectful society that values rules. People place great importance on queue culture, politeness, and mutual respect. It is quite common to greet and have short conversations with strangers in daily life. There is an understanding approach towards immigrants; you should not be afraid to make mistakes when speaking English.
The police and official institutions are helpful and supportive, but penalties are very severe, especially for issues such as drunk driving. In terms of language, Canadian English is close to the American accent, and abbreviations (slang) are common in everyday conversation. Learning these expressions over time makes communication easier and more enjoyable.
