Education in America Flexible Options, Strong Career Steps

America stands out for its wide range of programmes in language education, vocational education and training (VET) and higher education, its modern campuses and its support for international students. Students can plan different paths in a single country, from short-term language programmes to diploma/certificate options, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, according to their goals, budget and time plan.

Why America?

  • Natural Conversation Practice
You practise constantly, not only in class, but also at the market, on public transport and in social situations. This enables you to use the language reflexively, without thinking.
  • Correct Accent and Pronunciation
Learning from native speakers helps you acquire the correct intonation and pronunciation. This enables you to communicate more clearly and professionally.
  • Cultural Learning
Language is not just about words; by understanding the culture, you use the language more accurately and effectively. This enables you to use the correct forms of expression, especially in business life.
  • Increased Confidence
Communicating on your own in a foreign country boosts your confidence in using the language. The fear of making mistakes diminishes and your speaking practice accelerates.
  • International Career Advantage
Language training abroad strengthens your CV and sets you apart from your competitors. Employers view this experience as an indicator of discipline, adaptability and communication skills.
  • Networking Opportunities in an International Environment You gain a global network by communicating with students from different countries. These connections create long-term opportunities both socially and professionally.

About America

The United States of America is a federal state comprising 50 states, established on 4 July 1776. Its capital is Washington DC, where the White House is also located. With a population of over 300 million, it is one of the world’s most populous and most immigrant-receiving countries. Although it has no official language, the vast majority of the population speaks English; Spanish is the second most widely spoken language. This is particularly related to the heavy immigration from Latin America. In the post-Cold War era, America rose to become the world’s sole superpower.

The country is located between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and, due to its large area, exhibits great geographical and climatic diversity. While the northern regions have a continental and colder climate, the south, especially areas such as Florida, has a hot and rainy climate. The continental climate is more pronounced in the central regions, and this climatic diversity is also reflected in the vegetation.

Tourism, cinema and finance play an important role in the American economy. The US dollar is one of the world’s most widely used and convertible currencies. Millions of tourists visit the country every year, making a significant contribution to the economy.

In terms of language education, America has long been one of the most popular destinations. The clarity of the American accent, high-quality language schools, and the multicultural social structure and lifestyle are important motivators for students. Students take an average of 20–24 hours of classes per week, and those who wish can participate in intensive programmes. They are placed in appropriate classes based on a placement test taken at the beginning of their studies. There is no legal right to work during language studies.

Among the accommodation options, homestays and dormitories stand out. Homestays are advantageous in terms of adapting to the culture, while dormitories offer a more independent lifestyle.
American culture is notable for its cosmopolitan nature. Social life is particularly vibrant in large cities. While the standard of living is high, social inequalities and homelessness can also be observed. Social life, legal rules, and customs may vary between states. Tipping is common in the service sector, and it is customary to leave a tip of approximately 15% of the bill.
