Why Dubai?
- Natural Conversation Practice
You practise constantly, not only in class, but also at the market, on public transport and in social situations. This enables you to use the language reflexively, without thinking. - Correct Accent and Pronunciation
Learning from native speakers helps you acquire the correct stress and pronunciation. This enables you to communicate more clearly and professionally. - Cultural Learning
Language is not just about words; by understanding the culture, you use the language more accurately and effectively. This enables you to use the correct forms of expression, especially in business life. - Increased Confidence
Communicating on your own in a foreign country boosts your confidence in using the language. The fear of making mistakes diminishes and your speaking practice accelerates. - International Career Advantage
Language training abroad strengthens your CV and sets you apart from your competitors. Employers view this experience as an indicator of discipline, adaptability and communication skills. - Networking Opportunities in an International Environment
You gain a global network by communicating with students from different countries. These connections create long-term opportunities both socially and professionally.

About Dubai

Dubai, once a small settlement in the middle of the desert, has become one of the world’s fastest-growing and most prominent cities and is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. Dubai, which gained independence from the British in 1969, refers to its citizens as ‘Emiratis’. Especially since the 2000s, it has begun to host numerous international companies thanks to its tax advantages, investment-friendly policies and visionary management approach. While its economy was once largely dependent on oil, over the past 20 years it has become a global hub for tourism, information technology, aviation, and the service sector. In this regard, Dubai is often referred to as the ‘United States of the Middle East.’
Economy and Business Life
The Dubai economy has achieved a strong and diversified structure thanks to major investments in non-oil sectors. Its tax-free trade system, leading position in the luxury segment of tourism, and advances in the information technology sector have made Dubai a global financial and trade centre. Globally recognised brands such as Emirates Airlines are the most tangible examples of this vision. Oil, tourism, IT, aviation, construction and services are the leading business sectors. The local currency is the dirham, which is pegged to the US dollar (1 USD = 3.67 AED). Dubai also holds a strategic position in international shipping thanks to its ports.
Climate and Living Conditions
Dubai has a desert climate. The summer months are extremely hot and stifling, while the tourist season runs from September to May. Despite the extreme heat in summer, air-conditioned areas are widespread throughout the city, making life easier. Rainfall is very low and sunny weather prevails throughout the year. Sandstorms can occur from time to time.
Safety
Dubai ranks among the safest cities in the world. Strict enforcement of stringent rules keeps crime rates extremely low. People can comfortably walk the streets even late at night. While greater caution is advised in older parts of Dubai, the overall safety level is very high. Women-only areas and entertainment days also provide significant convenience in social life.
Accommodation
There is no homestay accommodation option in Dubai. Instead, halls of residence and shared house/room options are available. Students usually prefer the hall of residence accommodation arranged by the school for the first few weeks, then move on to alternatives that suit them better. Halls of residence typically have twin rooms, shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Monthly room rentals in shared flats average around 250–380 USD. Jumeirah is one of the most popular areas among foreigners.
Work Opportunities in Dubai
Students who come to Dubai for language training and enrol for at least 12 weeks are entitled to part-time work with a student visa. Although schools provide support in finding employment, they do not offer job guarantees. Students with an Intermediate level of English or higher have an advantage in finding work. The average hourly wage is around 8–10 USD. Some employers may offer accommodation and meal allowances in addition to wages. Being sociable, outgoing, and adaptable are important factors that speed up the job search process.
One of Dubai’s biggest advantages is that it offers people the opportunity to pursue their own careers after language training. Dubai is an ideal destination for engineers, designers and IT specialists in particular, offering long-term career and residency opportunities.
Social Life and General Living
Contrary to popular belief, Dubai offers a remarkably liberal lifestyle. There is considerable freedom in terms of dress code. Alcohol consumption is permitted in restaurants and nightclubs. Special ‘Ladies Night’ events and sections reserved for women on the metro make social life more comfortable. Concerts, exhibitions and events featuring world-renowned artists are organised. The seas are clean and the natural environment is quite impressive. For students, monthly living expenses of approximately £800–1,000 USD may be sufficient.
Knowing Arabic is not mandatory to live in Dubai. English is widely used in all areas, from daily life to official procedures. Signs, directions and public services are supported in English. This makes Dubai an extremely easy and attractive place to live and study for foreigners.
